My dad is a all-star dad because he is a police officer. He loves God and takes my family to church. He always plays ball with me and my brother and he tries to get to all of our games. He works very hard and spends time with the family when he can.He always picks me up at school on my birthdayand takes me out to lunch anywhere I want to go.I love him very much.Every year me and my dad ride our bikes up to Dairy Queen to get ice cream.I can always depend on my dad.The picture I picked for this is me and my dad doing Shop with a Cop at Wal-mart. My dad always takes me with him when he does this. He helps needy kids buy Christmas presents for them and their family. Please pick my dad!!!!

There are many stories I can share about my dad. Last year was a rough year for my family; we lost someone we loved very, very much. After 8 weeks of battling sickness, my dad's mother went to be with our Heavenly Father. Through the time while she was in the hospital to the planning of the funeral, my dad became an All-Star Dad. Men do not like to show emotion as much as women do, that is completely obvious. But during those couple of months I drew closer to my dad; he was the leader, the shoulder to cry on, the provider, the godly man that I did not see as clear as I did at this moment. He has 3 sisters he knew he needed to support and provide for and he has a wife and 4 daughters that need his love. He became an all-star godly man, not just my all-star dad.
My father has been there for me in every decision of my life. He has supported me in my going to school a couple of hours away and going into vocational ministry. He is always a phone call away when I need help, i.e. fixing my car in some way. He even has been there for when I got my heart broken. I am now starting to tear up as I am writing this, because he means the world to me. In the littlest way possible, he has shown me that there is hope. No matter how hard life can get, you lose someone you love or you get a bad grade on a paper, life will go on and he (my dad) will always love me. For I am, and will always be, his little girl.
From Matthew:
Our dad is the most amazing dad EVER! The dictionary says that an all-star is someone who is an outstanding performer and my dad is that. I was three years old when he became my dad.I was a foster child with DCFS and my parents took me and my older brother into their home and adopted us. We are not the only ones that he adopted. In our family there are nine kids, five of us are adopted. When I came to live with them I was in a school for handicapped children but that didn't matter to my dad. He still wanted me. After I was in my new home for about 6 months I graduated out of that school and the teachers there told my parents that I was not handicapped but that I just needed a family to love me. My dad is always telling me that I am special because he got to choose me. That means that even though he didn't have to be my dad he wanted to be. He loved me that much. The best thing about my dad is that he! has shown me to Jesus. He loves Jesus so much that he travels all over the world to tell people about Him. He has been in over 20 countries teaching about the Jesus. He has even taught in the underground church in China, I think it's his favorite place to teach. My oldest sister lives in China now, she is just like our dad teaching about Jesus. Next week he is going to Nepal to teach people who have never heard of Jesus. He makes me so proud and I want to be just like him when I grow up. I want to love Jesus and help people, I want to be an all-star like my dad!
From Emily:
I think my dad is an All-Star Dad because he is loving, caring, gentle, trust-worthy, and fun! He also has a GREAT sense of humor! He is always doing something to either help the church or help the community. He never complains. He always finds something good in every situation. He makes God the center of his life. He would do anything for anybody, no matter how difficult.
It is the little things that he does that makes me happy, even if it is just writing me a note before school. He always came to all my Basketball games and tourneys. And if we lost that game 0-50 he would still tell me I did good! He is a good person that would do anything for me.
Also a few months ago my dad adopted me. It took a really long time. It was long, hard, and stressful. For the longest time I said I was adopted in love. All my friends at school said it was impossible. But FINALLY on 12-21-11 I was not just adopted in love, I was adopted by law. And I was finally a Cruz. That is a day I will never forget!
