Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance in Rammelkamp Chapel are priced at $15 and will be available at the door. Advance sales are available by contacting Illinois College at 245-3069. Plus, in keeping with the Series’ emphasis of welcoming young musicians, admission is free to students of all ages with a valid student identification card. Guests at the concert will be treated to a 15-minute version of the group’s “Missa Luba,” which will feature the combined voices of the Illinois College Concert Choir, under the direction of Garrett Allman, and featuring a voco solo performed by Addie Gramelspacher of the Illinois College Music Department faculty. Since its founding in 1989, Ethos has demonstrated its commitment to advancing the percussive arts in education as well as performance. In addition to presenting clinics and master classes at institutions such as The Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, University of Illinois, and Berklee College of Music, Ethos has worked with thousands of students in New York City's public schools through concert and classroom activities. Long-term educational residencies elsewhere in the country have included programs with Sun Valley Center for the Arts and Quad City Arts. Ethos is ensemble-in-residence at Lehman College, Bronx, NY, and La Guardia High School for the Performing Arts. The Illinois College Fine Arts Series will conclude its 30th anniversary season with a performance Thursday, April 22, featuring Jonathan Biss on piano and Miriam Fried on violin. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Rammelkamp Chapel. |
