Family Friendly WIBI's goal is to encourage people in their journey toward Christ. We want to be a source of encouragement through positive, Christ-centered music and programs… and through friendship-as you invite us into your car, home, or workplace. The team takes our mission seriously. We pray as if it's up to God; we work as if it's up to us. We think integrity matters and strive to maintain the highest of standards. We're about loving God and loving people!

With studios in Carlinville, Illinois, Family Friendly WIBI is owned and operated by the Illinois Bible Institute, the educational corporation of the Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God. Our corporate headquarters are located at Lake Williamson Christian Center, 3 miles south of Carlinville, IL on Illinois Route 4.

New Life Radio - New Life Media Network

Family Friendly WIBI is pleased to be a member of the New Life Media Network, a division of the Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God. Our network of radio station covers most of Illinois, western Indiana, and portions of Missouri.

Family Friendly WIBI - History

WIBI radio ministry began in 1973 with the leadership of the Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God. They formed the Illinois Bible Institute, an educational corporation dedicated to offering Christian radio in Illinois. They envisioned a distinct brand of Christian radio, and they called it New Life Media. From the beginning, the goal of New Life Media was to blanket the state of Illinois with Christ-centered music & programming that would reach people around the clock, wherever they were.

The vision also called for New Life Media to be non-commercial and listener supported. Non-commercial meant that broadcasts would not be paid for by advertising sales. Instead, New Life Media would be made possible by the gifts of individuals, churches, and businesses. New Life Media could provide a ministry-focused atmosphere because its music and programming would not be interrupted by advertising commercials.

Perhaps most importantly, the founders of New Life Media envisioned a station that would break denominational barriers and join believers together in unity, focusing on their shared faith in Jesus Christ.

When the leadership of the Illinois Bible Institute wrote the objectives and mission statement for New Life Media, they envisioned a radio network that would encourage and edify believers while also being a light to the lost and helping evangelize those who had not yet come to know the salvation offered through Jesus Christ.

The Illinois Bible Institute, educational corporation of the Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God, is dedicated to offering Christian radio throughout Illinois, Western Indiana, and Northwest Missouri. We want to assist the local church in the inspiration of believers, in providing a positive source of encouragement to family development, and in gospel outreach to the general public.

The Radio Department began in August 1974. In September 1975, WIBI-FM, 91.1, came on the air in Carlinville IL. A second station, WBGL-FM in Champaign began serving east central Illinois in October 1982. WCIC-FM, 91.5, Peoria began serving central Illinois in November 1983. WCFL-FM, 104.7, Morris came on the air May 1994.  All are noncommercial and listener-supported.
